David Maynard, Airline Transport Pilot
David Maynard holds a BS degree in Geology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University. He also completed his Airframe and Powerplant Certificates from Columbus State Community College and subsequently earned Inspection Authority from the FAA.
David resides in Troy, Ohio with his wife Karen, a Pediatric Physician and their two children Madeline and Hailey.
David currently flies a Cessna 441 Conquest II and a Cessna 421B for a Dayton corporation. As a FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor David is a part-time Flight Instructor for Midwest Corporate Air, Inc. where he has taught numerous students how to fly both single engine and multi engine aircraft. David has given over 2,000 hours of dual flight instruction and has accumulated over 3,000 hours of total flight time.
David enjoys spending time with his family, martial arts and shooting competitions.

Ben Gaertner, Multiengine Commercial Pilot,
Ben Gaertner graduated from Hilliard High School near Columbus, Ohio in 1997. After working several years running backhoes and pounding spikes for the railroad, he decided there must be a better way to make a living. Following his love of airplanes, Ben decided to make a career change and to become a pilot.
Ben started his flight training in June of 2008 and by June of 2009, he earned his Multi Engine Instructor License. Today Ben has over 700 hours of flight time and is a full-time Flight Instructor for Midwest Corporate Air. Ben and his wife Jen live in Dublin, Ohio with their daughter Madelyn.

Jeff Spencer, Private Pilot
Jeff Spencer is a 1978 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School. He was introduced to flying at an early age, flying in the backseat of a Piper Cub with his father, Dwight Spencer. Today he lives with his wife near Rushsylvania, Ohio, and currently is employed by Honda of America.

Debbie raised two girls Sidney and Alexa, whom both graduated from
Benjamin Logan also. They also have one grandchild.

Nicholas Landis, Multiengine Commercial Pilot
Nicholas Landis graduated from Tipp City High School in 2006 where he became the State Champion in both the 100m and 200m events. He went on to run track for Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from there in the spring of 2010 with a degree in communications.
Today Nicholas holds a Multiengine Commercial and Instrument Rating and he is becoming a Certified Flight Instructor. We are happy to have Nicholis giving rides at the Bellefontaine Air Show.

Dwight Spencer, Private Pilot
There is probably nobody in Logan County who has done more to get people interested in aviation than Mr. Dwight Spencer.
Dwight graduated from Waynesfield High School in 1954 and from Findlay College in 1958. He began taking flying lessons that same year at Nickel's Airport in Roundhead, Ohio. In 1966 her earned his Private Pilot license in a C172 that he later purchased and still flies yet today.
In 1995 Dwight built a hangar and a grass strip at his farm, which he actively uses today as well. For 23 years Dwight organized and gave rides to the 8th grade students of Benjamin Logan and for 6 years he did the same for Indian Lake Freshman.
With over 3,300 hours of flight time and over 45 years of flying Dwight has given rides and introduced hundreds of people to aviation....many who have went on to fly themselves both personally and professionally.
Although Dwight is now retired from 39 years as an educator, principle, superintendent and from Mary Rutan Hospital, he still continues to contribute rides to people in the community and teaches drivers education part-time. He is married to Rochelle and they have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Dustin Buchenroth, Multiengine Commercial Pilot
First Lieutenant Dustin Buchenroth, a 2002 graduate of Indian Lake High School, is an F-16 pilot for the Toledo Air National Guard. Prior becoming a United States Air Force Pilot, Dustin graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a BS degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and in 2007 with an MS degree in the same field.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Dustin was a distinguished graduate of Officer’s Training where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, and then moved to Texas where he earned his wings as an Air Force Pilot at the fifty-five week Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. Upon graduation from ENJJPT, and earning the coveted F-16 as well as the Academic Excellence award, he advanced to “Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals” training and completed eight weeks of tactics and basic weapons delivery in the Northrop AT-38C Talon.
Upon completion of Survival and POW training in May of 2010, Dustin and his wife Natasha, and their newborn son Cale, moved back to the Toledo, Ohio area where he will serve for the 180th Fighter Wing of the Toledo Air National Guard.

Steve Buchenroth is the CEO of World Class Plastics, Inc. and the President, owner and operator of Midwest Corporate Air, Inc. Steve is a 1980 graduate of Indian Lake High School, and a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a BS degree in Business Administration with a major in Aviation Management. After OSU, he completed Officers Training and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air National Guard where he reached the rank of Captain and flew the F4 Phantom as a Navigator / Weapon Systems Officer for the Black Snake Squadron of the 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Today Steve is a corporate pilot, an on-demand air charter pilot and a very active FAA Gold Seal single and Multi Engine Certified Flight Instructor. To date, he has directly trained or heavily participated in the training of well over 100 successful pilots who received their pilot certificates and ratings through Midwest Corporate Air. These include over 40 Multi Engine and Multi Engine instructor pilots. Steve holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP) and is type rated in the Hawker 800XP and Sabreliner 65 business jets that he flies for a local manufacturing company.
